— — A look at the role of Proof-of-Contribution in the CyberVein’s ecosystem

The essence of the consensus mechanism is a process of decentralized decision-making and fair reward distribution. The more decentralized, the higher the degree of decentralization, the higher the community satisfaction, and the more stable and secure the ecosystem is. However, the more decentralized, the lower the efficiency of decision-making and the greater the performance difference. In 2018, CyberVein tried to use the Proof of Contribution (PoC) consensus mechanism to build a public chain for building big data interconnection solutions. By calling and evaluating data and databases, it measures the contribution of each node to the CyberVein ecosystem.

CyberVein PoC consensus principle

PoC stipulates that each contributor has the same hashing power, the more resources they contribute to the ecosystem, the more opportunities they will have to obtain additional block manufacturing rights, thereby avoiding waste of computing resources, but holding the account through contributions. This is how the PoC works in theory, but it can play an even greater role in the future. Now, CyberVein uses PoC to evaluate and measure the contribution of data and databases to the CyberVein ecosystem, building the big data interconnection solutions.

PoC is fully used in the PISR database

In the DAVE ecosystem, PoC is mainly used in the PISR database. In multi-party distributed business operations, database systems often cannot solve the problem of data credibility. The reason is that most database systems are difficult to decentralize. When the master node is a malicious node, the system is difficult to operate. The first-generation blockchain technology has deficiencies in performance, function, security, privacy, and supervision. Many projects currently focus on performance improvements such as distribution, throughput, and security, ignoring the needs of real commercial applications.

Every data processing action will be recorded as data contribution

DAVE members have to install the PISR database after joining the alliance. If members want to obtain data, they can submit a request to the CyberVein mainnet in the form of “transaction” to inform all the Alliance members, and at the same time pay “α” equivalent CVT to complete the transaction. The value of α depends on the interval between this application and the previous application. Metadata can be used freely within the alliance, users can also issue NFTs with the the help of CROSS, and use federated learning to train machine learning models with CYTRIX. All operations are completed in the form of “transactions”, and each data processing action will be recorded as a data contribution and accumulated as C points.

The alliance plays the role of “government” and actively participates in the process of packaging and uploading transaction information in the “transaction pool” to the main network. The subject who successfully packaged will successfully create a new block and be rewarded with a CVT of σ value. The probability of success depends on the number of C points.

PoC allows data to be confirmed and interact safely

Back to what was mentioned at the beginning of this article — CyberVein uses POC to call and evaluate data and databases, measuring the contribution of each node in the CyberVein ecosystem. In such an ecosystem, all big data can be transformed into knowledge, while the models that can be shared via contribution behavior, which can protect the intellectual property rights of data producers and data contributors. This process caters to the big data-requesting parties. Our solution will provide the effective decision-making assistance to benefit more industries. At the same time, DAVE combines the database system with blockchain technology and applies the characteristics of blockchain technology to the database to achieve a decentralized database system. At the same time, it uses artificial intelligence to assist decision-making and improve efficiency.

The main goal is to decentralize data storage and store the data in the blockchain in the form of operation logs, using the non-tamperable characteristics of blockchain data to realize the forensics and traceability of any data operation in the multi-party cooperation scenario.

“The blockchain network is a non-secure network environment that completely relies on stranger nodes for accounting and maintenance. Therefore, there must be some kind of affairs in the dark, so that these people who have never met will act in accordance with the rules.”- CyberVein is creating a decentralized database system through PoC, which, in turns creates mutual trust, and an efficient big data ecosystem. We are also promoting the application of blockchain to empower the real economy, and achieve higher data value conversion at a lower cost. We are on a mission to make data a truly valuable asset.
